Southernwind Pools was founded by John Versfelt in Dallas Texas in 1983. Originally, Southernwind Pools was a pool service company but quickly grew into a trusted builder that would go on to win International Design Awards for its outdoor projects and be featured on HGTV! Now located in McKinney Texas, Southernwind Pools has gained a reputation with homeowners and home builders alike as a premier provider of design focused, high-quality, high-value swimming pools. HOW LONG HAS SOUTHERNWIND BEEN IN BUSINESS?
Over 40 Years! Southernwind started by servicing pools in 1983 and over time became one of the longest standing companies in DFW to Design, Build, Remodel and Service Pools and Outdoor Spaces.
WHAT SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE TO EXISTING POOLS?
Southernwind provides weekly pool cleaning and maintenance to over 300 clients locally and has technicians to perform repairs and replacements to existing equipment. Southernwind is also a registered warranty station for Jandy, Pentair, Hayward and more.
Southernwind offers remodeling services for your pool and outdoor space and can provide a Remodel Design if needed.
WHAT DOES SOUTHERNWIND BUILD?
In addition to building Pools and Spas at the highest standard, many Southernwind Projects incorporate Structures, Kitchen/Bar, Fire, Synthetic Turf, Hardscapes, Lighting, Visual Features and more. Average Build Times are 3-6 Months, depending on scope. While we do not install landscape, we can provide assistance through design and referrals to make sure you achieve a complete project!
WHAT IF MY HOME IS A NEW BUILD?
Southernwind has worked alongside Home Builders for years and we design, coordinate and build in conjunction with your home builder.
IS MY INITIAL DESIGN CONSULTATION FREE?
Yes. One of our Designers will respond to your inquiry to discuss the project by phone and setup a complimentary consultation at your residence or build site.
DO YOU CHARGE FOR DESIGN?
Yes. Southernwind Design Service Fees range between $500-$2,500 depending on the scope of the project. Your Designer will provide a Design Proposal for your approval to move into design work and estimation, after your initial consultation.
HOW LONG DOES THE DESIGN PROCESS TAKE?
The average timeline from initial consultation to reaching an Agreement is around 2 months. Typically 3D Design Renderings and a 2D Concept can be produced within 2-3 weeks once your Design Proposal has been signed and paid for. Design time varies depending on project scope.
WHEN WILL I SEE THE PROJECT COST?
Typically, within 2 weeks from your Design Review. After your initial Design Review and revisions, your Designer will begin estimating and bidding the project in order to provide a Detailed Project Proposal with project details, cost breakouts by category and proposed payment schedule for an agreement.
IS THERE A LIMIT ON DESIGN REVISIONS?
No. Revisions are a part of every design process. Our goal is to spend the right amount of time understanding your project at the outset to reduce revisions and Design timeline. Our commitment is to provide a great experience without the sales pressure or tactics and a Design that you love and value.
IS MY DESIGNER INVOLVED IN CONSTRUCTION?
Yes. Our standard at Southernwind is that your Designer is a constant presence throughout the entire Design and Build process and beyond. Your Designer plays a key role in assisting the Construction Manager, PM and Scheduler during the Build through project coordination and site visits.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU OFFER THAT IS UNIQUE?
For over 20 years, Southernwind Pools includes In Floor Circulation and Cleaning on every single New Build and we are experts at installation. This provides the most energy efficient pool with unmatched circulation and has benefits in pool heating speed, chemical distribution and pool attractiveness, without needing a pool sweep/robot.
DO YOU OFFER FINANCING?
Southernwind does not offer financing but will assist you through proposals and referrals to find the right lender for you! We are agile with whomever you select to fund the build and we will coordinate with the lender on your behalf as you move towards closing.
